Comprehensive Systems: Curriculum, Instruction, and Educator Support
Looking to build systems that support high-quality teaching and learning for all students? In this session, the Professional Learning & Innovation (PLI) Department at Visions In Education (VIE) will share how to design model structures to align curriculum and instruction with California state standards and frameworks within PLCs, tailored specifically for charter school environments, including the unique learning environments found in nonclassroom-based settings.
The need for coherent, standards-aligned systems that support both educators and students is essential. Members of PLI will present VIE’s approach to implementing that guide instruction and curriculum concurrently. For curriculum, the presenters will articulate how to establish an annual curriculum review cycle using evaluation tools to drive continuous improvement and refining of curricular resources. For instruction, they will outline a workshop model anchored in research-based Instructional Best Practices (IBPs), designed to support consistent, equitable learning at every grade level. Finally, this session will highlight the comprehensive systems VIE has designed; rooted in building educator capacity and facilitating shared leadership. Participants will leave with strategies and tools that are replicable to systematize learning and empower educators within their own district or school.
This approach is designed to be flexible and adaptable across a variety of school models and settings. Whether getting started or looking to refine existing practices, this session offers tools, insights, and encouragement to help participants take the next step. Come ready to connect, reflect, and grow alongside educational leaders who are tackling similar challenges and building solutions together.
