Becoming the Best Board Member You Can Be
Strong charter schools need strong boards. But many board members want to help and are not always sure how. This session will help current and prospective board members to understand their role, stay in the right lane, and support school success with greater clarity and confidence. Participants will explore what excellent board service looks like in the current California charter school context, including the difference between governance, management, and support, and what effective board members do before, during, and after meetings. Come with questions, concerns, or aspirations, and leave with practical tools and a personal action plan for becoming a more prepared, effective, and mission-aligned board member.
