Collaborative Success: Unlocking Excellence and Growth Potential through Shared Services
Discover the transformative potential of shared services in this engaging session, where presenters will delve into the innovative practices of three charter school organizations that have successfully shared business and back-office services, academic advice, and hiring processes to optimize resources, add students, and enhance educational outcomes.
Join this session as the presenters explore the journey of their organizations, highlighting how they have streamlined operations and reduced costs by consolidating administrative functions. Participants will learn about the practicalities of sharing finance, facilities and human resources, while also collaborating on political issues such as defeating bad legislation. These initiatives have not only reduced overhead, but also freed up funds to reinvest in student-centric initiatives.
The breakout will feature two case studies illustrating the collaborative efforts in identifying and interviewing for key teacher and leader roles. Separately, by combining and sharing political advice, these charter schools have been able to more effectively advocate against troublesome legislation.
Participants will leave with actionable insights and strategies to implement shared services in their own districts, empowering them to unlock new growth potentials and drive educational excellence. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from pioneers in the field and transform your school's operational efficiency, academic performance, and positioning with your authorizer.

President
Caliber Public Schools
I've been running finance and operations at Caliber since we opened our first school in 2014. In that time I feel like I've seen it all! Opening new schools, growing them, building private facilities, partnering with other charter organizations, etc. Lots of fun and challenging experiences! Before that, I spent ~15 years in marketing and leadership roles companies like Proctor & Gamble, the Boston Consulting Group, and CNET Networks. And I'm a lifelong East Bay area guy, having grown up and went to school in Richmond and Albany, just a couple miles away from where I still live with my wife and two kids.
