Charter Teacher Credentialing: 2023-24 Edition
This popular session engages charter school attendees ranging from credentialing beginners to experts. We cover how to use numerous local assignment options, and the implications of using them. We also discuss creative solutions to credential gaps, such as TCCs and various types of emergency permits. The session provides information on the CalSAAS monitoring system, Williams list, and Assignment Monitoring Outcome reports, as well as how those accountability systems relate and work together (or don't).
We discuss which credential requirements and flexibilities apply to charter schools as compared to school districts, and the role of charter authorizers. This year's session will include a discussion of credentialing topics as they relate to charter renewal, as well as updates for 2023-24 like the new deadline for early education TK credentials. We'll also discuss ideas for increasing accountability in your organization for credentialing coverage, as teachers remain in demand and credentialing has become increasingly high-stakes.
