Health and Safety

Illness Including COVID-19

Your health and safety are important to us. CSDC will closely monitor COVID-related expert guidance and local officials and will develop health and safety protocols as needed. Participants will be kept up-to-date on any necessary safety measures prior to the event or onsite if a situation develops. To protect everyone’s health, please do not travel or attend the event if you are feeling ill or having symptoms of any kind.

Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff, and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

A Harassment-free Environment

CSDC is dedicated to providing a harassment-free program, training, or event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of participants or contributors in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any session, including talks, workshops, parties, social media, or through any other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the program or event without a refund at the discretion of CSDC.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual or racist attention (hereafter referred to as “inappropriate").

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Sponsors and Exhibitors

Sponsors and exhibitors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized or prejudiced images, activities, or other material. Exhibitor attendees and staff (including volunteers) should not use inappropriate clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create an inappropriate environment.

Consequences

If a participant engages in harassing or inappropriate behavior, CSDC and its staff may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the program or event with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of CSDC’s staff immediately. Program and event staff can be reached at events@chartercenter.org or by calling (916) 538-6612. Immediate concerns can also be brought to the registration desk on-site.

CSDC staff will help participants contact appropriate authorities, if necessary, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the program or event. We value your participation.

Liability Waiver

By attending the 2023 CSDC Conference (the “Event”), you voluntarily assume all risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury, including severe illness, hospitalization or death, related to exposure to COVID-19, and release, waive liability, and hold harmless CSDC from liability for any injury or harm, including severe illness, hospitalization or death, that may result by attending the Event. CSDC’s goal is to ensure a safe meeting environment. As such, you also agree to abide by any prevention or safety measures that CSDC, the Anaheim Convention Center, the Anaheim Marriott, the Anaheim County health department, or the State of California may have in place during the Event. You also agree not to attend the Event if you become ill, are aware that you’ve been directly exposed to the COVID-19 virus within two weeks prior to the Event, or exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus prior to or during the Event.
